This is a complete gut renovation and enlargement of an existing single family house. The renovated house has approximately 14,000 square feet and includes a Natatorium, Spa, Exercise Room and Offices in addition to lavish kitchen, bedrooms and family rooms.
Bicaluro Associates P.C. provided complete mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection (MEP/FP) design services.
The selected space cooling was designed to use Daikin Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) Systems with ducted floor mounted interior units. The VRV system was selected to provide individual comfort and ease of installation. Each room is controlled independently from the other rooms providing high efficiency and energy savings reducing both, the installation time and cost.
The space heating was designed to use a combination of radiant heating in the main rooms and wall panel radiators in the bedrooms. Means of producing hot water for space heating and domestic use were flat panels soilar collectors with gas fired boilers as back up.
The Natatorium and Spa were also designed to use flat panel solar collectors with gas fired boilers for back up.
The entire house was provided with sprinklers using CPVC (BrazeMaster piping) and residential type sprinklers.
